Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews

Hi there,

Jim is back and I am writing to you the second post in the series of brand writings for vacuum users. This time I would like to discuss a brand that may be very familiar with you – Dyson. And the structure of the post still consists of 4 parts:

  • About the company and its vacuum models
  • Pros and Cons and customers’ feedback
  • Dyson vacuum cleaner reviews
  • Tips and Tricks

Now we are going to the first part.

About the company

In 1978, James Dyson became frustrated with his vacuum cleaner’s dimishing performance. Taking it apart, he discovered that its bag was clogging with dust, causing suction to drop. He would recently built an industrial cyclone tower for his factory that separated paint particles from the air during centrifugal force. But could the same principle work in a vacuum cleaner.

He set to work. Five years and 5127 prototypes later, he had invented the world’s first bagless vacuum cleaner.

Today, there are Dyson machines in over 65 countries around the world. Dyson has grown from one man and one idea to a technology company with over 1000 engineers worldwide. But it does not stand still. At its core is an ever-growing team of engineers and scientists. And more ideas, more inventions.

Models

One of the most important technology of Dyson is the bagless technology for a vacuum. A Dyson vacuum cleaner uses cyclonic separation to remove dust and other particles from the air stream. Dirty air enters a conical container called a cyclone, where it is made to flow in a tight spiral. Centrifugal force throws the particles out of the airflow onto the wall of the container, from which they can fall into a bin. The vacuum cleaner uses several stages of cyclones. Dyson states that centrifugal forces can reach up to 150,000 g

Then, the company introduced a cylinder machine, the DC02, and produced a number of special editions and revised models (DC02 Absolute, DC02 De Stijl, DC05, DC04, DC06, DC04 Zorbster). On 2 January 2001 the company name was shortened from Dyson Appliances Ltd. to simply Dyson Ltd. In April of that year the DC07, a new upright vacuum cleaner using “Root Cyclone” technology with seven cyclone funnels instead of the original dual-cyclone design, was launched. And by 2009 Dyson began creating other technologies: the AirBlade hand dryer, the Air Multiplier ‘bladeless’ fan and Dyson Hot, the ‘bladeless’ fan heater.

What customers are saying

When it comes to Dyson, most buyers have put positive reviews thanks to the strong suction and bagless technique. So the Dyson bagless design looks and feels great, but the real question is how well does it clean? After all, it’s going to spend most of its life stashed away in a closet. How it looks is a trivial concern next to knowing how much dirt it’ll suck out of your carpets will be mentioned in our Dyson vacuum cleaner reviews.

Overall, this is a vacuum that rights itself certainly sounds like science fiction, but Dyson keeps all components of the canister inside of a sphere with a low center of gravity. Furthermore, should the canister get jostled and tip, it’ll naturally work itself back to its upright position. But overall, besides
